Frederic Vasseur is getting closer and closer to becoming Ferrari’s new team principal. While waiting for the announcement from Maranello, came the one from Alfa Romeo about his farewell that is much more than a hint.

“The announcement marks the latest chapter in a journey of personal and professional growth for both the team and the man, a journey that culminated with Alfa Romeo F1 Team Orlen achieving its best result in the Formula One constructors’ standings, with sixth place in the 2022 season,” it reads. “This is a moment that marks the end of an era, a time when our team takes stock of the changes that have taken place under Vasseur’s leadership. Progress on and off the track has been followed by a growing sense of confidence.”

“As I prepare to conclude my adventure at Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN, I can look back fondly on these six years together,” Vasseur’s greeting. “I owe a debt of gratitude to each and every employee of the team, as they are the ones who have put this team back on its feet and climbed the ladder of our sport. I am proud of the work we have done collectively as a team and a company, and even more proud of the solid foundation we have laid for what comes next: but what I am most proud of are the people who have made it all possible, who over time have become friends. I have learned so much during my time as CEO and Team Principal, and I feel that each day has prepared me for what is to come.”
