Genoa, eyes on a promising Empoli player
Grifone keeps its eyes on an Empoli player
Genoa’s management is continuing to sound out the market ahead of the January window in order to put the best possible squad in the hands of coach Alberto Gilardino to aim for Serie A.
The Genoa club is looking for a profile for the left flank to replace the injured Marko Pajac, and the latest name to emerge is that of a promising youngster owned by Empoli.
He is Liberato Cacace, a left-back born in 2000, from New Zealand but of Italian origin. The player, after two seasons in his homeland and two in the top Belgian league, arrived in Tuscany in January 2022 on loan and then was redeemed last summer.
The defender, despite the excellent impressions he made in the second half of last season under Andreazzoli’s guidance, is finding little space in Paolo Zanetti’s rotation, mainly due to the explosion of Fabiano Parisi.
