“Marc Marquez insists he wants to beat Valentino Rossi.”
Former Ducati rider Neil Hodgson: “Marc Marquez always takes risks but the rewards for this approach are huge.”
Former Ducati rider Neil Hodgson at BT Sport’s microphones explained what motivates Marc Marquez to keep going despite the injuries of recent years and the technical difficulties Honda has run into in the last period: “He has already won eight titles, but there are riders who have won more than him in MotoGp. He wants to beat Valentino Rossi.”
“Marc lives on the edge, he’s always taking risks, but the rewards for that approach have been huge, considering everything he’s won. Of the six MotoGp titles he has won, probably the best for Honda was 2014. Since then they have not been able to develop the bike well, and the other manufacturers have caught up and beaten them. Honda has not been able to catch up and is now lagging behind. In the following years it won only because of Marquez, who made the difference and ran risks all the time.”
