Frederic Vasseur to replace Mattia Binotto: even Brundle turns his nose up at it
More doubts are coming in about what is happening in Maranello.
Ferrari has announced the arrival of Frederic Vasseur as the next team principal to replace Mattia Binotto, in a decision that many insiders are criticizing. Last on the list is Martin Brundle, a longtime Formula 1 driver and a longtime pundit and interviewer for ‘Sky Sports F1’ in Britain.
“In my opinion, that of team principal of Ferrari is one of the most difficult jobs that exist in the world of motorsport,” were his words, relayed by ‘The Daily Express.’ Then they let Mattia Binotto, who has spent a lifetime in Maranello, go to call Vasseur. Who has a long career in motorsport, especially in the minor formulas, but in Alfa Romeo he has not done exceptional things.”
“His work in Formula 1, so far, certainly does not warrant him too positive judgments. He never gave the feeling that he was ready to move to a top team. However, we will see if he proves to be from Ferrari. Which moreover I didn’t understand why it decided to have one month without a boss, and then to have Vasseur come in only from the next,” Brundle concluded.
