The former Napoli captain returned to his Trabzonspor side’s victory in the Turkish league

A 38-year wait. With related giant celebration in which Marek Hamsik participated as a protagonist. The Slovakian footballer, who can boast as many as 11 and a half seasons with the Napoli jersey – of which he was also captain – last May celebrated victory in the Turkish championship with his Trabzonspor. The midfielder succeeded in Turkey where he had failed in Italy, when in 2018 he touched the tricolor with the partenopei coached at the time by Maurizio Sarri.

Interviewed by DAZN, the former Brescia man returned to the great celebration for the Turkish title, not forgetting the coaches who most marked him, by his own admission, in his long experience in Naples: “They waited 38 years to win the Scudetto and the celebrations were incredible. They organized six parties and one of them even went viral on Instagram, with 80 ships sailing in the sea and celebrating. At the end of the game I spent half an hour cheering with the fans, and when I got back to the locker room the celebrations of my teammates were over. They resumed with me, though,” recounted an amused Hamsik.

“Among coaches I like Sarri, Guardiola, those who play soccer in short. Sarri left his mark on me. Mazzarri gave a strong group identity, even the famous trident came out, and we won the Coppa Italia after 20 years. We will never forget that celebration. Naples exploded together with me,” ‘Marechiaro’ concluded.
