St. Moritz, Sofia Goggia pawing: “I want to get the maximum”
Sofia Goggia was fastest in the test on the eve of the World Cup downhill.
Sofia Goggia is very confident after the last round of the downhill in St. Moritz, where she will be hunting for her third victory of the season on Friday: “I still did two or three turns a little too much, but overall it was two harmonious runs, I feel satisfied. I’m just trying to run my course, ski as I’m capable, that’s what I work and work so hard for.”
“I think I am also going strong in super-giant, I have won races in the past and until last year’s race in Cortina I had the red bib in this discipline as well. In Lake Louise, fifth place also came from going through an area where I had hurt myself in the past, something I may have experienced on a subconscious level, but it’s something you chase away slowly. The plan for the weekend is to give it my all to get the most out of it, ski solid, dvertize myself and stay on the supports. I can control my performance but not the others’, we will see what happens,” are the words to the Fisi website.
“Lack of reference points on the slope? You have to have the track in your head, trust the supports and have confidence in yourself, because some passages are blind.”
