Virtus Bologna prepares to face Maccabi Tel Aviv

Virtus Bologna coach Sergio Scariolo spoke on the eve of the challenge valid for the 13th day of the Euroleague, which will see the Felsinei engaged against the Israelis of Maccabi Tel Aviv, victorious against Olimpia Milano at the Forum d’Assago on Tuesday evening, Dec. 13. The Black Vuere are fresh from their home win against Alba Berlin, which broke the streak of two consecutive losses between the league and the top European competition.

“A demanding challenge, against a team of the highest level built for the Final Four, with a lot of physical talent and technical talent: they have the ability to make baskets both in the area and from the three-point arc. They have a great leader like Lorenzo Brown, a player definitely included in the very narrow lot of Euroleague’s top players: he is capable of doing everything on the court but he still wants to learn and has a humility that impressed me and allowed him to be virtual mvp of the European Championship. He knows how to score and he knows how to make his teammates score. We have to recover our energy: we have one day less in this double round and so the most important thing is physical recovery since we have some players not in the best condition. I really appreciated the contribution that some players made yesterday despite being far from the best condition: they were joined by another player who we will see tomorrow if he will be available. The good news yesterday was definitely that every player gave his contribution to win: we shared the ball well and approached well defensively for a good part of 40′. Tomorrow there will be another level on the court and we will have to keep it high not for many but for all the minutes of the game against a team with a high talent rate,” Sergio Scariolo explained to the official channels of the bianconero club.
