Italnuoto wins the same number of medals as the Abu Dhabi 2021 edition (16), with one more silver medal (5 – 6 – 5), totals 28 finals appearances, improves 2 world records, 4 European, 8 Italian and 19 personal bests. Gregorio Paltrinieri becomes the first swimmer to win the 1500 twice and signs the first 800-1500 double; Thomas Ceccon wins the first individual gold at the rainbow event; Sara Franceschi and Simone Cerasuolo climb the world podium for the first time; six relay teams medal with gold and world records for both the men’s 4×100 freestyle and 4×50 mixed and European records for the men’s 4×50 mixed and 4×100 mixed. Italnuoto is confirmed in quality and density in the top three of the medal table behind the United States and Australia.
