Venus Williams will participate in the Australian Open at the age of 42. The U.S. tennis player, who has won twenty-one career Slams in singles and doubles, has accepted an invitation from organizers of Australia’s top tournament.
For Venus Williams, who last took the court at the US Open, it will be her 22nd appearance at Melbourne Park, where she made her debut 25 years ago. The former world number one is currently outside the top 1,000 athletes in the WTA rankings after playing little in recent years.
