Ettore Messina has one regret: “Never fully booked.”
Messina has one regret
Olimpia Milano coach Ettore Messina took stock of the situation a few days before Christmas. “We had 58 trainings, we never had the whole group available. Then you have every right to think that mistakes were made in the construction of the team or in the way of coaching it,” the red and white coach told the press, as reported by Ansa.
“In the Euroleague we are behind but a string of wins is enough to get back into the playoff zone. My players are good people, they care and they show it every day in training. Maybe every now and then we would need more badness,” Messina added.
Last season, Ettore Messina’s team returned to win the scudetto, snatching it from Virtus Segafredo Bologna’s jerseys. The red-and-whites, who had finished in second place right behind Sergio Scariolo’s team in the regular season, immediately brought the court factor to their side in the final series and never let the Felsinians catch them again. In the Euroleague, Sergio Rodriguez (who said goodbye to the Red Shoes in the summer to return to Spain) and his teammates were eliminated by Ergin Ataman’s Anadolu Efes, who would win the tournament for the second year in a row.
