Ferrari, Carlos Sainz senior lapidary on the revolution at the race wall
Senior Carlos Sainz has his say on changes at Ferrari
Interviewed by the Spanish newspaper ‘Marca’ just days before his 16th Dakar participation, Carlos Sainz senior, father of the Ferrari driver of the same name, had the opportunity among other things to comment on the revolution at the Redhead, with Frederic Vasseur going to the role of team principal after Mattia Binotto’s farewell.
“How did I react to the changes at Ferrari? Like anyone observing the situation from the outside,” Sainz senior said, “I hope these decisions will lead to good results for the team. You have to respect the choices that the Scuderia has made and hope that they will allow them to continue to improve so that we can fight for the title.”
Dad Sainz is a two-time World Rally champion (1990 and 1992) and three-time Dakar winner (2010, 2018, 2020). His son Carlos Jr, on the other hand, has preferred asphalt circuits, making his F1 debut in 2015 and joining Ferrari in 2021.
