Bologna coach sergio Scariolo: “We made a lot of mistakes, and every mistake generated easy shots for them.”

Virtus Bologna after two wins in a row in the Euroleague lost in Vitoria against Baskonia 90-79, paying especially for a particularly bad first half. “The first quarter was actually decent, the second terrible,” said coach Sergio Scariolo. “Then we struggled, but especially on the road we can’t allow the home team to play so easily.

“We missed so many easy shots, and especially the percentages in the area made the difference. I’ve never seen a game in which one team makes nine stoppages and the other zero. I know we have players out, among the more physical ones, but we had to do better, especially in the second quarter. We made a lot of mistakes, and every mistake generated easy shots for Baskonia,” is the coach’s harsh reprimand.

“I’m not happy. We struggled in the first, third and fourth periods, but I can’t be happy. And we have to give credit to Baskonia, who played with pace and aggressiveness, playing a beautiful game. When we came back to -6, fighting with pride, we made two deadly mistakes, one in defense and one in offense,” are the words reported by Bolognabasket.org.
