Mikaela Shiffrin completed her very personal hat trick in the women’s World Cup slalom on the final day of racing in Semmering. The American, on her favorite slope “Panorama,” immediately closed the file with a great first run in which she was already 72 hundredths ahead of the second, securing victory in the second with an overall time of 1’43″26. For the 27-year-old from Colorado it was the 80th career victory – at -2 from Vonn -,on the maximum circuit, the 127th podium in addition to being the seventh victory in Semmering, between giant and slalom.
U.S. one-two with Paula Moltzan, the only one in the first run to do better than Shiffrin in the early flat, lagging 29 hundredths behind, on her first career podium with Germany’s Lena Duerr in third at 34 hundredths. Top five closed by Slovakia’s Petra Vhlova, fourth, and in fifth place Switzerland’s Wendy Holdener.
