Klaebo unbeatable, Federico Pellegrino one minute away
Tour de Ski, results
Johannes Klaebo came out on top in the 10-kilometer classic technique in Oberstdorf, Germany, continuing his string of victories-three in as many races-in this Tour de Ski, which is also valid for the World Cup. The Norwegian also scored his 14th victory in the event thanks to a crescendoing run, in control in the early stages, to dominate with a time of 21’38″5 over teammate Simen Krueger, 12″4 off. Third place for compatriot Didrik Toensteth third at 22″4, in a comeback over Swede Calle Halfvarsson, 2″5 from the podium, and overall leader Paal Golberg, fifth.
In sixth was Ben Ogden of the United States, and seventh was Britain’s Andrew Musgrave, 38″9 off. Eighth was Norway’s Haavard Moseby at 42″6, just two tenths ahead of Francesco De Fabiani. The Valdostan, who ran into a minor mishap risking a fall in the finale, confirmed a good condition, staying for most of the race attached to the positions that count.
Twenty-first position for Federico Pellegrino, in a trial certainly not congenial to his technical characteristics, who finished at 1’03”. Giandomenico Salvadori finished in a decent 25th position at 1’05″9, while Dietmar Noeckler finished 26th at 1’06″2.
Very good performance for young Elia Barp: the Venetian finished 34th at 1’17″3, showing great signs of growth, as did Davide Graz, who finished just behind in 35th. Paolo Ventura finished in 40th place at 1’30″5, Giovanni Ticcò 53rd at 1’49″1, Simone Mocellini 62nd at 2’17″ and finally Mikael Abram 77th.
