Eighth win in a row for Juventus: Danilo’s goal is enough against Udinese
Eighth win in a row for Juventus and provisional second position pending Milan-Roma
Eighth win in a row with eighth consecutive clean sheet for Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus: the Turin side needed only a goal from Danilo in the 86th to overcome a combative Udinese and move into provisional second place on 37 points, pending Milan-Roma.
The match starts without much excitement, in fact in the first 20 minutes neither Allegri’s men nor Sottil’s men manage to trouble the opposing defenses, until Udogie’s header, which calls Szczesny to reflex. In response, Juve made themselves dangerous with Rugani on whom Silvestri responded with a great intervention. Juventus tries to play the game: an inspired Di Maria puts Kean in front of Silvestri, who once again makes himself ready. The last chance of the first half belongs to Udinese, which knocks on the door of the Polish extreme defender with a great shot from outside the box by Walace.
In the second half, Silvestri’s show continues, also decisive on Kostic. The Turin team pushes putting in difficulty the one led by Sottil, who relies mostly on some counterattacks. Allegri’s men went through four minutes from the 90th on the Paredes-Chiesa-Danilo axis, with the Brazilian bagging at the second post the blue’s suggestion, set up by the newly crowned world champion. It was the winning goal, with Juventus thus temporarily bypassing Milan in the standings, moving into second place.
