Dominik Fischnaller confirmed his excellent form this season with third place in the men’s World Cup singles in Sigulda, Latvia. The Carabiniere from Maranza, on his fifth podium finish of the season on the highest circuit-after two wins in the singles and sprint in Park City and two third places in the singles in Whistler and the sprint in Igls-he put in an excellent second run, confirming the third time he had already achieved at the end of the first run. For Fischnaller it was the 43rd podium in his World Cup career, 267 thousandths from first place.

The victory went to Latvian host Kisters Aparjods, first in 1’35″228, good at climbing positions during the second run in which they showed off two good runs.

Fischnaller consolidated his lead in the overall standings, which still sees him in first place with a score of 465 points, compared to 372 for Austrian Wolfgang Kindl and 351 for the other white-and-white skier David Gleirscher.
