Last year Belinda Bencic had lost in the final in Adelaide to Iga Swiatek. This time she made up for it and immediately after the match exploded passion with her boyfriend Martin Hromkovic. Against Kasatkina the Swiss had no problem. She won in two sets, beating with great efficiency and not conceding a single break ball to her rival: practice archived in just 67 minutes, with the eloquent score of 6-0, 6-2.
Both Bencic and Kasatkina had flatly missed the semifinals, thanks to the forfeits of Badosa and Kudermetova.
