Milan-Inter supercup, another rejection in sight for Charles de Ketelaere
Few training doubts for the Rossoneri coach
Reduced by a week without victories in the league and with an early as painful and unexpected elimination from the Coppa Italia, Milan is focusing all its energies on the first trophy of the season, the Italian Super Cup, which is awarded in Riyadh -in Saudi Arabia- on Wednesday, January 18.
In front of them is certainly not just any opponent, since they are the holders of the Coppa Italia, as well as Italy’s vice-champions and city rivals: Simone Inzaghi’s Inter.
Struggling with defensive problems that emerged dramatically against both Roma and Lecce – as many as four goals conceded by the Rossoneri in the last two Serie A matches – Stefano Pioli is expected to revive Simon Kjaer from the 1′, who has been absent from the starting eleven since October 25, the day of the Champions League match against Dimamo Zagreb.
Few, indeed very few chances of a new chance from the start for Charles de Ketelaere, the most expensive purchase of the Rossoneri summer. So far the Belgian has disappointed expectations, hardly making an impact on any occasion when he has been called upon, except for the winning assist for Rafael Leao in Milan-Bologna last August 27. And so, after 90′ and more minutes on the bench at the ‘Via del Mare,’ the former Club Brugge talent will have to digest a new exclusion. Waiting, if he enters, to be decisive in the match in progress.
