Sofia Goggia falls in the second downhill in Cortina
No encore in Cortina for Sofia Goggia: the Italian champion, during the second downhill on the Olympia slope of the Tofane, was in fact protagonist, in spite of herself, of a slip in the final that irretrievably affected her result.
Fortunately, Goggia got up immediately and did not appear to suffer any physical consequences as a result of the slide. She then headed for the finish line and in crossing the line greeted the Cortina audience with a bow.
Despite the negative result, Sofia Goggia retains the lead in the specialty and will therefore wear the red bib again in the next downhill. On Sunday, however, she will try to redeem today’s disappointment in the super-giant.
