Genoa koos in Parma, Gilardino goes flat: “My responsibility.”
In the press conference comes the mea culpa.
Alberto Gilardino does not hide after his Genoa’s loss at the Tardini against Parma. “The responsibility for the defeat is mine. I failed to get into the heads of the players, in the knowledge that this match would be played on duels and second balls,” said the Grifone coach.
“In particular I have to take the blame for what we did in the first half,” Gilardino added. “In the second half we then tried to change from a tactical point of view, but without succeeding. So the penalty ended the hostilities. What I regret most, in any case, was the absence of a reaction on our part.”
Gilardino, a former Ducal center forward, nevertheless praised Parma’s performance: “They played one of the best games of the season, I expected to find an opponent like that. It has players who can turn on in any reason, plus one like Vazquez who at any stage of the game is capable of creating headaches.”
