Alberto Gilardino does not hide after his Genoa’s loss at the Tardini against Parma. “The responsibility for the defeat is mine. I failed to get into the heads of the players, in the knowledge that this match would be played on duels and second balls,” said the Grifone coach.

“In particular I have to take the blame for what we did in the first half,” Gilardino added. “In the second half we then tried to change from a tactical point of view, but without succeeding. So the penalty ended the hostilities. What I regret most, in any case, was the absence of a reaction on our part.”

Gilardino, a former Ducal center forward, nevertheless praised Parma’s performance: “They played one of the best games of the season, I expected to find an opponent like that.
