Team WRT, Valentino Rossi after Bathurst: “It’s just the beginning.”
The Doctor satisfied after sixth place: “It’s just the beginning”
Very good first official outing for BMW M Team WRT at the iconic Bathurst 12 Hours. The Belgian stable’s BMW M4 GT3s spent the entire race in the leading group, finishing fourth with Sheldon van der Linde, Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts, and sixth with Augusto Farfus, Maxime Martin and Valentino Rossi
“It was definitely a positive weekend for me and for the team. It was great to have this race! I felt good on the track from the start and had a good pace. It is a new car for the team, but it is very nice to ride. During the race, especially in the heat, we need a little more pace, but it’s just the beginning of the season! Bathurst is a mythological place! Having the chance to race here is great, you have to pay attention but it’s a lot of fun to ride,” the nine-time MotoGP world champion told the team’s official channels.
Valentino Rossi has won nine world titles and also boasts the record, exclusive in MotoGP history, of having managed to win in all categories: 125, 250, 500 and MotoGp. A motorcycling icon, he retired in Valencia in November 2021, and his famous number 46 was retired at the last Mugello Grand Prix, held in May 2022.
