Cagliari, Guglielmo Coppola spurs one in particular
During the interview granted to La Nuova Sardegna, Guglielmo Coppola took stock of Cagliari’s situation: “This defeat with Modena was not wanted but I think the coach has already managed to transmit to the team the grit that was missing before him. And it was not a given. Ranieri is a direct person: what he says in interviews is also what he will say in training. If he says the team liked it in terms of grit, it means he really believes in it. And he will charge the team in this direction.”
The former bomber, who scored 22 goals in 54 appearances in Rossoblù, continued, “What is the team missing? Still something in quality but with the return of all the players I think we can make progress. I expect a lot from Mancosu, a player who with Fabio Liverani was perhaps not settled in a role that enhanced his qualities.”
“Perhaps the first two places are too far away, Frosinone is flying. I believe that Ranieri is thinking about the playoffs. Although, knowing him, a little thought is definitely being given to second place,” Coppola concluded.
