Club World Cup, Real Madrid makes no mistake: it will be final against Al Hilal

Club World Cup, Al Ahly-Real Madrid 1-4

Real Madrid is the first finalist team in the Club World Cup being held in Morocco. In Rabat, in the second of the two semifinals, the men coached by Carlo Ancelotti defeated the Egyptians of Al Ahly 4-1, thus qualifying for Saturday’s final, where they will find the surprise of the tournament, Al-Hilal executors of Flamengo.

The North African team posed more than a question mark to the reigning European champions, who, however, managed to unlock the result in the end of the first half thanks to Vinicius Jr., good at getting past El Shenawy with a lob. At the beginning of the second half, the doubling: in fact, it was not even the first minute of play after halftime that Valverde collected a rebounded ball and deposited it into the net on a tap-in.

All over? Not for Maaloul, who in the 65th minute reopened the game on a penalty awarded for a foul in the box by Camavinga on El Shatat. Al Ahly pressed for an equalizer, but Real closed it out in the final, although Modric, in the 87th minute, missed the penalty of a possible 3-1. The third goal, however, still came in the second minute of added time thanks to Rodrygo, concluding a splendid combination with Ceballos.

In the 98th minute, the icing on the cake was put by Arribas, who had entered shortly before in place of Vinicius Jr.: it ended 4-1 for Real Madrid.
