Sanremo, tapir to Amadeus after Blanco’s embarrassing scene
A tapir for Amadeus
Envoy Valerio Staffelli catapulted into Sanremo to hold Amadeus accountable for Blanco’s embarrassing performance and hand him Striscia’s Golden Tapiro, the second of his career for the Festival’s artistic director.
“In his performance, at the end, Blanco had to kick the roses: there was a reason related to the lyrics of the song, which evidently presupposed a final gesture of anger. And that he would explain at the end of the performance,” Amadeus explains. Who adds to the envoy of Antonio Ricci’s satirical news program, “His jug went off, but what actually happened next was not prepared at all, I didn’t know anything. The flower growers and the public were rightly angry: he apologized and realized he shouldn’t have done that. It will never happen again.”
