Second blue medal in Grenchen: silver in women’s team pursuit

Second medal of the day as well as second of the Italian expedition at the European Track Cycling Championships in Grenchen. The blue quartet, after overcoming France in the semifinals, was defeated in the challenge for gold by the very strong British.
Martina Alzini, Elisa Balsamo, Martina Fidanza and Vittoria Guazzini had to surrender to the superiority of Great Britain, which, despite a moment of decline, managed to keep up with captain Katie Archibald.
The azzurre’s silver adds to Simone Consonni’s fantastic gold medal in the points race.
