Alex Marquez, in Sepang, set the ninth fastest time on the first day of testing at the Malaysian track just a handful of thousandths of a second behind Team Gresini teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio.
“First positive day,” said Marc’s younger brother, “you always have the doubt of what the return to action will be like and it went well. There is to continue working in this way, the base is good. In Valencia we had tried very little in terms of setup so on Saturday we will start to touch that point. There is definitely to improve on the pace, but with a new bike I think that’s normal. First day good, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”
