Arianna Fontana case, Malagò cuts to the chase
The Coni president intervened in the affair: “I talked to him, he will compete for Italy.”
Coni president Giovanni Malagò wanted to close the thorny case of Arianna Fontana, who a few days ago indulged in an outburst that hinted at a possible farewell to the Azzurri: “She called me last weekend and we spoke several times. I want to say this: there is no question that Arianna Fontana will not continue to compete for Italy and I think this is good news.”
“At the end of these phone calls my confidence in Arianna is 100 percent unchanged,” are Malagò’s words reported by Sky: “I am not saying that she was misinterpreted, but she did not have the precision to tell her state of mind due to some considerations made in some moments of her career. I also talked about it with Gios, if there are open issues they should be substantiated. Then those who have to judge will make their assessments.”
