Novak Djokovic: application to play in the U.S. on the way
The attempt to be able to play in the United States earlier than planned is ongoing.
Novak Djokovic is gradually putting the various problems he faced in 2022 behind him, and he has already won the Australian Open this early in the season. Aware that he can also participate in the US Open, however, his intention is to be there at the Indian Wells and Miami Masters 1000 as well. Confirming this is his brother Djordje.
Djordje Djokovic, in fact, explained to the Serbian news agency ‘Tanjug’ that the family is working to obtain a special permit that would allow Nole to play on U.S. soil in March and April as well. The permission for the U.S. Open, in fact, stems from the fact that Joe Biden has set May 11, 2023 as the end of the Covid emergency, with mandatory possession of a vaccination certification.
“Novak needs a special permit,” Djordje Djokovic confirmed, “He has submitted all the necessary documentation, but we don’t decide on this situation. They will give us an answer in a few days, hopefully we will have good news.”
