Cheddira scares Bari against Cosenza, then launches it into third place
A very important victory to fuel promotion ambitions.
Bari beat Cosenza 2-1, moving back to third place in the Serie B standings on equal points with Reggina and Südtirol at the end of a non-trivial challenge with the last-place Calabrians. In fact, the Rossoblù tied Esposito’s initial lead with Rispoli. Decisive is then Cheddira in the second half, after having missed a penalty in the first.
For Bari, the match got off to the best possible start as early as the 3′ minute, when Esposito collected Botta’s assist and mocked a not unimpeachable Micai at the first post. Micai himself denied Botta’s double, and in the 24th minute came the equalizer thanks to a great header by Rispoli. Then in the first half recovery, Rigione fouls Esposito in the box but Micai opposes Cheddira’s conversion. The same biancorosso fantasist in the opening of the resumption hit the cross of the posts, but in the 69th minute he gave the victory to his own with a framed shot on Pucino’s initiative on the right.
