Parallel, results

Alex Vinatzer set the second best time on the blue course at the end of the cut-off phase to enter the men’s parallel race at the World Championships in Courchevel – Mèribel. The Gardena native, paid 31 hundredths behind Austrian Adrian Pertl, but in turn trimmed two hundredths off host Alexis Pinturault.

Luca De Aliprandini, fifth time on the blue behind Belgian Sam Maes, also passed the round, as did Filippo Della Vite: the Bergamasque policeman pulled a classy run out of his hat, despite being among the last to start, with a great sixth time just 55 hundredths behind Pertl. Giovanni Borsotti was the first of the non-qualifiers, at just 19 hundredths, ironically excluded by Della Vite himself, with all four Italians starting on the blue course.
