Mercedes, Russell’s charge: “Ready to win.”

George Russell’s first season at the wheel of Mercedes has been very positive, the Briton has shown a lot of continuity by managing to get his first Formula 1 victory at the Brazil circuit, and most importantly he finished the championship ahead of the more emblazoned teammate Lewis Hamilton.

Earlier today the German team officially presented in Silverstone the new W14 with which it hopes to redeem a below-expectation 2022. During the event, George Russell spoke about the new single-seater and his personal and team seasonal goals: “I’m very impressed with how the team developed the car over the course of last season, and I’m excited to see how the project has grown over the winter. The break has been long, and there is a lot of anticipation as to whether the W14 will live up to expectations,” began the former Williams driver.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how the car will perform on the track, so that we can get as much information as possible and get to the best we can for the first race in Bahrain. Aesthetically it looks great, I find it bold and aggressive,” continued the British driver in reference to the return to the “total black” livery.

“We are ready to get back to winning. Behind this car there is a lot of work done in the factory, and that is why both Lewis and I have no intention of repeating last season. Our goal is to be able to be competitive again and give everyone a run for their money,” concluded Russell on the goals set for this championship.
