Berlusconi: “Milan in my heart, but I advised Palladino on how to beat it”
“I hope for a draw, when Milan loses I am heartbroken.”
Monza owner Silvio Berlusconi in an interview with Sky spoke on the eve of the match of the heart against “his” Milan: “Milan is my favorite team. I used to go to Milan matches with my dad, Milan has always been in me. When Milan loses I am heartbroken, we hope for a draw that doesn’t hurt anyone. Milan and Monza are two different things. Monza I am happy when they win, I clap my hands, but they have not yet entered my heart. I don’t know if I will get as excited on Saturday as in the past, but seeing Milan is always exciting, I always see Milan on TV.”
The former Rossoneri president then revealed the advice he gave to coach Palladino ahead of the match with the Diavolo: “Our two forwards must always stay in the opponent’s field, limit the opponent’s attacks. It helps us to receive the ball in attack directly with a pass from the goalkeeper. I always tell the players to keep their torso on the ground to kick low to the ground and not into the sky. And then I advised to man-mark the Milan wings, we will see if they obey me.”
Milan players who have remained most in his heart: “I love Maldini very much, he is the son and father of Milan players. I love so many from my Milan team. To Gullit, to Van Basten. The greatest? Baresi, a fantastic player, a man of incredible honesty, loved and respected by everyone, even by opponents.”
