Parma, Pecchia disagrees: “We deserved a different result”
Pecchia won’t stand for it: ‘The ball didn’t go in, it makes me angry’
Parma coach Fabio Pecchia commented in a press conference on his team’s home defeat against Ascoli in the 25th day of Serie B: “From what I have seen so far, I always seem to see the same thing. The ball did not go in, that makes me angry: because the team until 20 seconds from the end was inside the match. This defeat makes us lose the right enthusiasm. Great anger: the team deserved a different result. Ascoli in the first half did not create big chances; we, for what we create, are doomed by the numbers. Charpentier? It was a matter of tightness, we knew that. But we wanted to start with an area player, a presence player. Happy with the entries and recoveries of Ansaldi, Man and Camara who gave a quality boost.”
“I don’t think there was a drop in the second half, the game didn’t have any big tears,” continued the ducal coach. “What broke the balance was the penalty. We could have attacked the goal differently, without a doubt; we could have done better, without a doubt. Vazquez false nueve? With Genoa we scored goals; with Venezia we scored two with him in that position; with Brescia we won.”
“Do I feel calm? I never feel calm. I work, I try to do my best. Zagaritis created the dangerous situations himself. Bad defeat, stop. On reading the defensive line, it’s hard to judge…. Today, however, he did not concede anything. I think the approach was there even in the initial part. Concreteness after going ahead always brings enthusiasm. In the few situations we concede then we concede the goal. The reactions have always been there. But after all the reactions the team was not rewarded. There is great bitterness and disappointment. Enthusiasm obviously comes when there are different results,” Pecchia concluded.
