Sinner yields to Medvedev: Russian triumphs in Rotterdam

Daniil Medvedev proved taboo for Jannik Sinner. In the final of the ATP 500 in Rotterdam, the South Tyrolean tennis player was caught up by the Russian and succumbed 7-5 2-6 2-6. Thus fades the double for the Italian, following the title won a week ago in Montpellier.

After a very hard-fought first set in which Sinner is very good at taking advantage of the break opportunities he had at his disposal (2 out of 2), starting from the second partial the music changes: Medvedev rises with his return on serve and becomes more and more solid, while the Italian starts to be more foul and gradually loses control of the match. The third set also saw Medvedev run away immediately, who in the seventh game won a second break lead that sealed the match: it ended 5-7 6-2 6-2 in favor of the Russian tennis player.
