Pozzecco reassures Georgia

Gianmarco Pozzecco, the head coach of the national basketball team, spoke in Livorno ahead of the challenge with Ukraine.

“In 1993 I played here, I was a boy and I was trying to establish myself. I played an excellent season, thanks to the welcome I was given, and for this reason Livorno will always remain in my heart: 30 years have passed but that was the most important moment of my career. I have a beautiful memory of this place, there were three figures who in particular helped me: Dado Lombardi, Stefano Attruia and Michael Ray Richardson. Livorno is a city that excites, my boys know how to do the same: that is why I am sure that a special evening awaits us. We are already certain of a place in the World Cup while Ukraine is playing most of its chances but we will do everything to honor the principles of sports since Georgia is also in the mix for a place in the World Cup. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate, also on behalf of my staff, Germani Brescia for winning the Coppa Italia in Turin last weekend.”
