The athlete from the Marche region dominated her opponent far and wide, disposing of the match in just 48 minutes. Giorgi thus advances to the semifinals, where she will face Czech Katerina Siniakova, the tournament’s No. 4 seed.

The latter beat the Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, who was defeated by 6-1 5-7 6-0, in a match with a fluctuating performance. Thus fades, for the Ancona native tennis player, the dream of an all-Marches semifinal.
