Ducati, Danilo Petrucci: “I took so many slaps…”
Danilo Petrucci takes stock of his first weekend in Superbike
Ducati Barni team rider Danilo Petrucci took stock of his first weekend in Superbike at Phillip Island. After finishing eighth in Race 1, the Ducati rider finished 11th in the Superpole Race, and ninth in Race 2.
“I wanted to be the best rookie and I succeeded in two out of three races, in race 2 Aegerter screwed me over. As a goal I had given myself to finish in the Top 10 always, but my face still hurts from the slaps I took this morning in Superpole Race: a bar fight more than a race and I was not used to it. I have to understand the different attitude of these riders and these tires, I wasn’t used to bombing in warm up anymore,” are the words reported by Gpone.
On race 2: “I was going pretty well and I thought I was catching up with the top group, but I lack some confidence on the fast track still and in the last four laps my tire dropped so much. I’d like to see myself further ahead in the next races.”
