Claudio Ranieri charges Cagliari ahead of challenge against Genoa
Reduced by two consecutive draws, obtained away against Bari and Venezia, Cagliari returns to play at home on Wednesday against Genoa. It is a challenge loaded with fascination, on which the islanders’ coach Claudio Ranieri is banking heavily to further confirm his side’s playoff ambitions.
“Genoa is the strongest team,” Ranieri said in a press conference, “even more than Frosinone, without wanting to belittle the latter. But they have very experienced players and a coach, Gilardino, who is making the most of a great opportunity. Congratulations to him.”
