Jurgen Klinsmann new coach of South Korea

Jurgen Klinsmann will be South Korea’s new technical commissioner. The Asian national team, fresh off its participation in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, has chosen the German coach to replace Portugal’s Paulo Bento, who resigned in the aftermath of the World Cup.

The Korean Football Federation confirmed the news in a brief note released through its official channels: on Tuesday, Feb. 28, the official presentation of the former striker, who will be in his third experience as coach after those with his Germany and the United States.

South Korea, at Qatar 2022, managed to make it through the group stage (along with Portugal) ousting top national teams such as Uruguay and Ghana. In the round of 16, however, Brazil proved too strong for the Koreans, who were defeated by a clear 1-4 scoreline.
