Rafa Nadal also says no to Indian Wells
No Indian Wells for Rafa Nadal
Rafa Nadal will not return in time for the Indian Wells tournament, ATP Masters 1000 scheduled from March 6 to 19. Announcing the Spanish champion’s forfeit was the organization of the California tournament itself, through its social channels.
“The three-time champion of the BNP Paribas Open (this is the official name of the event, ed.) has forfeited his participation in the 2023 tournament due to injury,” reads the note posted late Tuesday afternoon on the event’s official channels.
“We wish Rafa a speedy recovery and hope to see him at the BNP Paribas Open next year,” the tournament’s director, former German tennis player Tommy Haas, commented in closing statement.
