Farewell to Sergio Dell’Acqua

Swiss basketball mourns the passing of Sergio Dell’Acqua, who died at the age of 85. The news was reported by RSI. Under the colors of Federale Lugano, Dell’Acqua, who had already received offers from Italy at age 17, won three national titles (1975, 1976 and 1977) and the Swiss Cup three times (1958, 1974 and 1975). The class of ’37 also wore the Swiss national team jersey on 29 occasions between 1956 and 1963.

In 2017 Dell’Acqua received the award as “Best Ticino player of all time.”
