Lazio, Lotito’s dig at Mourinho
Lazio, Lotito stings Mourinho: “We need respect.”
During an interview on the microphones of “Radio 1,” Lazio president Claudio Lotito spoke about the events that took place in the post derby and the spat he had with Jose Mourinho.
“I am under the banner of respect. I did not utter words, I only saw a paraphernalia between one of my players and a Roma player. After Mourinho’s words, I thought he did not understand that I was the president of Lazio, so I wanted to point it out to him. What didn’t go down well with me was that he rehashed it. I never told him that he could not be there. There was no handshake between us. It was an issue of roles that should be respected,” the patron began about the spat he had with the Portuguese coach.
“I celebrated the derby like any other match without too much emphasis, because matches are won and lost, but what counts is the character the team put on the field. The attitude they had was a great satisfaction for me. Added to this is a great tifo and a great passion of the fans who pushed and supported us as always,” Lotito concluded about the victory in the extracittadina.
