Jannik Sinner, Laslo Djere is the first obstacle in Miami: background
Three previous, Sinner won the last
Laslo Djere will be Jannik Sinner’s first opponent in the Miami Masters 1000 tournament, one of the top ATP tournaments hosted by the United States. The Serb defeated Australian Aleksandar Vukic 6-2, 7-6(3) at the end of a match that lasted one hour and forty-five minutes of play.
There are three previous matches, in official matches, between Djere and Sinner (already in the second round thanks to a ‘bye’ granted by the organizers to the top seeds): the South Tyrolean won the last direct clash, in Indian Wells in 2022 (6-3, 6-3), losing instead in Kitzbuhel in 2020 (6-4, 6-4) and even earlier in Budapest, in 2019 (6-3, 6-1).
There is currently a difference of 47 positions in the ATP ranking between the two: Sinner is 11th, while Djere occupies position number 58.
