Torino, Vagnati unbalances on Vanja Milinkovic-Savic’s renewal
Vagnati gets out of line on Milinkovic-Savic
Torino’s sporting director gave an exclusive interview to ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’ in which he talked about many topics, including the renewal of the granata goalkeeper: “Renew? Yes, we are in the home straight. Always defended? My role is to take responsibility. I believed on his qualities, because I saw in him a potential on the level of leadership that he holds today. The rest was done by the coach and goalkeeper trainer Di Sarno. Vanja can still grow: he is 26 years old, for a goalkeeper he is young.”
He then commented on Schuurs’ excellent season: “We are all happy with Perr. When I had lunch with him and the family in Amsterdam, I realized that he would be perfect for Toro. Because he has an outstanding mentality and work culture. It is fair to mention that Schuurs was an investment of a certain kind: our president guaranteed the economic strength to close this deal.”
Finally, he also reassured on Ivan Juric’s future: “Dealing with such a topic at this time is important because we all have to plan our future. On the other hand, I notice so much excessive alarmism because the coach has another year on his contract. We are calm: it will be important to finish these two months well, as the coach always says, in parallel it will be equally important to plan well for the future. As President Cairo said, the future will have to be together with coach Juric.”
