Victory for Emppoli in Monday’s first match valid for the 28th day of Serie A.
At the Castellani the hosts won 1-0 over Lecce.
Zanetti’s team in the first half failed to overcome Falcone, the protagonist of two excellent interventions. In the second half, however, the winning goal came thanks to a penalty kick earned by Parisi and converted in the 62nd minute by Caputo. The guests failed in the final to equalize the score.
Empoli, expected on Friday from the match against Milan, has thus climbed to 31 points in the standings, +4 just on Lecce, stopped at 27: salvation is now mortgaged.
