Paolo Lorenzi sets his sights on Jannik Sinner

Paolo Lorenzi in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport praised Jannik Sinner for a wonderful week at the Miami tournament. There were three qualities that impressed him: “He impressed me with his quickness of foot, his heaviness of the ball, and his ability to never lose court: physically he is structuring himself great.”

Sinner fell in the final against Medvedev: “Certainly a match like that against Alcaraz drains you, and at 21 years old recovering even mentally from challenges like that is more complex,” explained the former Italian tennis player. “There is also to say that Medvedev was the worst opponent, because he always makes you play three more strokes, so to be on par with him you have to be athletically at the top.

According to Lorenzi, Sinner, can stay on top as the season continues and aim for a Slam: “I’m not worried about three out of five matches. Jannik has a phenomenal learning ability and these matches will have served him well in storing fundamental inputs. I make a prediction on grass: because of the characteristics of his game he will be one of the men to beat.”
