F1, Fernando Alonso amazed by Aston Martin’s competitiveness

F1, Alonso candid: “I thought I could only play with Ferrari and Mercedes in 2024”

In an interview with “the-race,” Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso spoke about the first three championship races and the huge strides made by the team in such a short time.

“I was hoping that 2023 would be a learning season and that in 2024 we could challenge Ferrari and Mercedes, but we have already faced them since the first Gp in Bahrain, so the situation seems much more optimistic. Now we will have to deal with strength in development, and that is something we will find out from the next races.”

All the teams will start making updates to the car, and we will also have to show that we are on top in this aspect as well. On the track, as well as off, we have to try to get as much information as possible if we want to compete for the title in 2024,” said the Spanish driver.
