One point each for Fiorentina and Atalanta, engaged in Monday night’s Serie A postponement at the Franchi.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s team took the lead in the first half thanks to Maehle, who was cautioned for shushing the purple fans after scoring the goal. In the second half, the Gigliati equalized thanks to a penalty kick awarded for a hand foul by Toloi and converted by Cabral. Vincenzo Italiano’s men went close to doubling the score (Biraghi’s post on a free kick and Sportiello’s half-miracle on Bonaventura in the middle of the second half) but the result never changed again.
In the standings Atalanta now at 49 and Fiorentina at 42.
