Carlos Sainz also spoke about Marc Marquez on the sidelines of an event by Estrella Galicia 0.0, the official MotoGp beer.
“Marc [Márquez] and I follow each other, we encourage each other and we have a very good relationship,” the Ferrari driver began. “As many of you know, when I come to Madrid I try to see him, in fact today I will have lunch with him and we will catch up. I really liked the documentary on Amazon. I was watching it and I think they did a great job of showing the human side of Marc [Márquez], what we riders go through in difficult times and to show how important the support of the fans is. Their positive messages always encourage you and I think it is often very easy to criticize from the outside without knowing what a rider is going through in those moments. I’m sure that before seeing that documentary there were people who criticized Marc [Márquez] and then, when they saw how much he was going through, they thought that maybe they had been too hard on him. He is human and we all have those feelings.”
“I really liked it and I’m also convinced that Marc [Márquez’s] three-week break to recover, as he always does, will make him come back stronger,” Sainz added. “On the weekend in Portugal, the guy pulled a pole and a podium out of his sleeve that didn’t exist. Whenever he can, he is always a surprise and he will continue to do that.”
