F1: George Russell warns Red Bull, Ferrari and Aston Martin
George Russell warns rival stables
A week before the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the first in 2023 anticipated by a Sprint Race, the last winner of a Sprint Race, George Russell, who won Saturday’s “mini-race” in Brazil (going on to win the GP as well), spoke to official Circus channels.
The young Mercedes driver spoke about the start of the season and the work they are doing in Brackley to improve the single-seater driven by ex-Williams and Lewis Hamilton, warning rival teams, from Red Bull to Ferrari via Aston Martin.
“We race to win,” Russell said, “We want to win races and championships, but for now we are not in a position to do that. There will be big changes, however…. Clearly, we will not make all the changes immediately, we will make them in the right ways and at the right times-I’m sure the lap times will be positively affected.”
